I made this jewelry bowl on the potter's wheel with stoneware clay. I have to be very careful to punch out the stars on the rim at the exact right moment. The clay needs to be stiff enough so I can push through it, but not so stiff that the delicate rim cracks. After the bisque firing I glazed with chun blue and hot orchid to create this jewelry bowl.
